IT Password Resets

Reset your password online

Please note that you must enter your current password as part of the registration process. If you are trying to register and have forgotten your password, please contact the IT Helpdesk.

Registering for the service will enable you to change your computer account password from any internet connected PC. This password controls access to your computer account, email, the Portal, St Mary's Online, library e-resources and Pebblepad. 

Passwords must be at least six characters long and contain at least one upper case letter and one number and must not include part of your name. You cannot reuse a password until you have used five other passwords.

Not already registered for online password resetting?

If you need to change your password while you are off campus but have not registered for remote password resetting, you can change your password by taking one of the following actions. Once you have changed your password, please return to this page to register for remote password resetting.

  • Email a scan of your St Mary's ID card to helpdesk@smuc.ac.uk and tell us what you would like your password to be.
  • Fax a copy of your St Mary's ID card to 0208 240 4270. Please tell us what you would like your password to be and include a contact telephone number or email.
  • Visit the IT Helpdesk or LRC Information Desk in person with your St Mary's ID card.
  • If you have not registered and you do not have an ID card, please email helpdesk@smuc.ac.uk. Please state that you do not have a card in the email.
