Document formats on the Portal
All downloadable documents on the Portal are marked with icons indicating their format. The following formats are in use:
PDF file (Adobe Reader required)
Word Document (Microsoft Word required)
PowerPoint presentation (Microsoft PowerPoint required)
Excel worksheet (Microsoft Excel required)
Corporate Documents and SharePoint
The Staff Portal will be replaced with a new 'StaffNet' site running on Microsoft SharePoint during 2010/11. The Documents and Policies section will be comprehensively designed as part of this process.
A Corporate Documents Repository will be provided with its own dedicated search engine. Staff with responsibility for corporate documents will be able to update and upload documents themselves in an interface similiar to Microsoft Office.
